Richard Stein M.D.

Richard SteinRichard Stein M.D. is the founder and co-director of the Cardiac prevention and Rehabilitation Program at the 92nd Street YM-YWHA in Manhattan He is a recipient of the National Institute of Health’s preventive Cardiology Academic Award and the Heart of New York Award for Achievement in Cardiovascular Science and Medicine.

His research and scientific publications have focused on the cardiovascular physiology of exercise, exercise training and preventive cardiology. He is the author of the new book Outliving Heart Disease* which he wrote to give people the tools to help them be more informed and feel empowered to take charge of their heart health.

Currently he is a professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine, Director of their Urban Community Cardiology Program and Co-president of the American Heart Association’s Northeast Affiliate.
